Unequal competition

A Smaller Competitor Outsells Me with Ads

A newer, leaner company, apparently with fewer resources, is selling more than you through Google. Understand why this happens so often.

Watching a smaller competitor outsell you through ads is one of the most frustrating situations for someone with more time in the market and a better product. This rarely has anything to do with luck, and almost always comes down to campaign structure.

You’ve been in the market longer, you know the product better, you have a more experienced team, and yet you watch a smaller, newer competitor, apparently with fewer resources, selling more through Google. It’s a particularly frustrating feeling, because everything you know about your own business says it should be the other way around.

That gap has a cost that goes beyond wounded pride. Every customer who goes to that competitor is revenue that never came in, and while that disadvantage continues, it tends to compound, because the competitor reinvests what they’re earning while your business stays at the same result level.

BSC has seen this scenario repeat many times, and knows exactly what usually separates who sells more from who has more structure. We won’t detail what to do here, that work is ours when someone hires us. If this situation bothers you, we’d be happy to understand your case and show you where that gap is.
